Can someone please explain why the A27 between the now horrific Quay Street Roundabout and Station Roundabout is down to one lane? I come home from the M27 every day at about 5.30-5.45 and it’s always two lanes of SOLID traffic. Where’s all the cars in Lane 1 going to go? Lane 2? So that means more cars in Lane 2 and more cars right back to the already solid block of traffic back to the M27. Not everyone works in Gosport or in Fareham and have to commute out of the area to Portsmouth like I do and no way would I swap being in my car being able to go directly to and from work for standing in the freezing cold or rain to catch bus connections and it costing me a fiver a day for the privilege.

“Traffic flow will be monitored” according to Hants Council but if they had monitored the flow properly already they’d see what every single resident and commuter sees – solid traffic through those roads from 4.30pm onwards in every lane. Typically the men in suits who have little to no experience of that journey day in day out have been making ridiculous decisions because ‘it makes things better’ for those who DO have the experience there. Once again – they are wrong and will be proved wrong. I just hope to god nobody pulls out without looking in a flurry of confusion over a new bus lane and causes a collision during a quiet period.

So many things wrong on our roads in this town right now – I haven’t even started on the Eastbound J11 lane system, which is another joke I think. Thanks HCC!
